2011 Marks the 10th Anniversary of Baroque on Beaver

 

Come to the Ferry Dock at 4 pm on Monday, July 25th to Welcome the Baroque Musicians and Chorus to Beaver Island.   Bring a dish to pass and join us at the Welcome Dinner  at The Gregg Center at the Christian Church at 5 pm.

Baroque on Beaver 2011 opens with a world premiere by Tom Cipullo based on poetry of Beaver Island-born writer Robert Cole. Soprano Martha Guth, violinist Dr. Albert Wang, clarinetist Dr. Joan Van Dessel and pianist Kenneth Bos share their incredible artistry on this intimate program to benefit the Beaver Island Cultural Arts Association.

A Gala Reception will follow the concert.

Come experience a night of extraordinary music!  Enjoy one of Mozart’s finest symphonies, written during the summer of 1788 when he experienced a burst of sudden and intense creativity. The evening also highlights the talents of Baroque on Beaver concertmaster, Dr. Albert Wang, as he performs Bach’s E Major Concerto, an extroverted piece written in the pure baroque style.
