Fall on Beaver Island

While the crowds are mostly gone, the Celtic Games are over and only the Island Boodle and Bite of Beaver to go this fall. It was just a gorgeous afternoon for a drive down the West Side Drive in search of piles of logs. There was not one reason to skip past some of the best sights on the Island, so a quick stop was made on Fox Lake Road.

Did you forget about this Beaver Island wonder? The big birch tree?

Or the rock--Paul Bunyan's watch bob?

A terrific view looking out over Fox Lake.......

A memory of the tunnel-like view driving on down the West Side Road...

And just past Tara's Meadow, off on the west side of the road, the equipment was seen very clearly in a littered small clearing. Is this on private land or public property?

A small pile of logs compared with the pile on the barge in the harbor....

Some more equipment back through the woods is just barely able to be seen...

Close enough to Miller's Marsh to stop and take a picture or two.....

And Greene's Lake...How long has it been since this was seen by Islanders?

And a swing over to Barney's Lake for a few minute stop....

Most of the spring and summer, things are moving at high speed here on the Island, but a few moments need to be taken to relax and watch the wildlife including insects....What's got these dragon flies so tenacious?

Less than an hour of time and the batteries are recharged, ready for just about anything...........
