Connie Wojan was the winner of this week's trivia contest. She correctly identified the first three lay teachers on Beaver Island to teach in the current Beaver Island Community School building. Her answer was: Grant Hart, Joe Moore, and Terry Hart. Although I was looking for the first three male teachers, Connie's answer was absolutely correct. The third male teacher to teach with the Dominican Sisters at BICS was John Murphy, Jr., a special education teacher. Joe Moore is still teaching at the Beaver Island Community School and has completed thirty years teaching in our school.
We are going to stick with the Beaver Island Community School for this week's question in honor of the BICS graduation coming this Saturday, June 9, 2007. There are three teachers currently teaching at BICS who graduated from Grand Valley State University. Can you name them? If you can add the year that each graduated, the first to email me the correct answer will win a summer subscription to Beaver Island News on the 'Net for the person of your choice. Email your answer to: firstname.lastname@example.org.

Do you know where this wonderful image can be found on Beaver Island?
This wonderful image can be found at the Beaver Island District Library in the garden behind the building. Nancy Peterson was the first person to correctly identified the location.
